David Sides Sr. charged with one count of Sex Offender on Child Premises |

On June 16, 2011, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office
received a report indicating a Registered Sex Offender was at an athletic event in Belhaven, NC where minors play recreational sports. The Sheriff's Office began an investigation, collected evidence, and conducted interviews.
As a result of the investigation, Investigator Rob Voliva applied for and obtained a warrant charging David Sides Sr., age 41, of Barnes Drive in Chocowinity, NC with one(1) count of Sex Offender on Child Premises. On September 14, 2011, Sides turned himself in at the Beaufort County Magistrate's Office and was brought before Magistrate Curtis. Sides was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
