Beaufort County to UHS Agreements for the Disposal of the Public's Hospital Made Available (update)

Publisher's Note: The Beaufort County Board of County Commissioners are in the final throes of negotiating the Probable Lease / Sell (actually a give-away to UHS of a 55 million dollar public asset) of Beaufort County's Hospital. This is what the public, as expressed by a majority of the public at the many Public Hearings (as required general statue), wishes the commissioners to do.

This is a part of the Public Record, which was shot in video, and preserved for the public for all posterity.

It will be done as a Lease with a Purchase Option Agreement, which is being hammered out by the Commissioners through their attorney, Bob Wilson.

Here below is the press release from the county office of those intentions as prescribe by North General Statue. This is an update.

121 West Third Street, Washington, North Carolina

For Immediate Release

Notice is hereby given that Beaufort County Government's Board of County Commissioners (the "Commissioners") shall hold a regular meeting on Thursday, August 25, 2011, in Beaufort County's Administrative Building, Room #111, which is located at 121 West 3rd Street, Washington, NC. At this regular meeting, among other items on the agenda, the Commissioners will consider a resolution to approve the terms of (1) the Amended and Restated Lease Agreement, and (2) the Assignment and Assumption Agreement (collectively, the "Transaction Documents"), each Transaction Document being by and among Beaufort County; Beaufort Regional Health System; Beaufort County Hospital Association, Inc.; Beaufort Regional Physicians, LLC; and University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina, Inc. ("UHS"). If consummated, the Transaction Documents will effectively lease Beaufort County Medical Center and substantially all of the assets used in the operation of Beaufort County Medical Center (the "Hospital Property") to UHS, for a term of thirty (30) years, with an option to purchase Beaufort County's remainder interest in the Hospital Property. Copies of the Transaction Documents will be available for the public to review in the Beaufort County Manager's Office at 121 West 3rd Street, Washington, NC, beginning on August 15, 2011 through August 25, 2011.

Here below are the two documents in question, and in PDF format, that are on review by the Beaufort County Commissioners, and the public that they represent:
