PRESS RELEASE

    On August 8th, 2011 at approximately 9:37 p.m., Deputy Thomas Salinas of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division was patrolling the River Road area of Washington, NC. Deputy Salinas located a passenger car being operated on River Road that matched the description of vehicle involved in a suspicious activity report earlier near Brick Kiln Road. Salinas had Communications run the tag number, and he learned that the registration had an "insurance stop." Salinas performed a traffic stop on the vehicle and spoke to the occupants.

    During the stop, Deputy Salinas noticed that the driver was overly nervous. A consent search of the car was performed. A plastic bag containing seven individually wrapped baggies of marijuana was located in the center console. As a result of information and evidence collected at the scene, Deputy Salinas arrested Ronriquez Lamont Flowers, age 24, of Vermont Avenue in Washington, NC and charged him with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Flowers was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $1,500.00 secured bond set by Magistrate Jasper Mills.
