PRESS RELEASE

    On July 15, 2011, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a report of a Larceny that occurred at a business on Highway 33 East in Chocowinity, NC. The victim reported $1,000 worth of stainless steel had been stolen from the business. The Sheriff's Office began an investigation, collected evidence, and conducted interviews. The stolen metal was located at a recycling business in Vanceboro and returned to the victim.

     As a result of the investigation, Investigator Rob Voliva applied for and obtained warrants charging Shelby Joe White, age 44, of Mouth of the Creek Road in Blounts Creek with one(1) count of Felony Larceny and one(1) count Obtaining Property by False Pretense. White turned himself in at the Magistrate's Office on August 5th and was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $1,000.00 secured bond.
