Not ONE Pitt County School passes "AYP"? |
|
I'm "old school". My mother was an educator, as were two of my aunts, and this theme runs deep back into my ancestry, but I'll spare you any history lessons other than the current one at hand: There is too much Government in your schools! It's creating a disaster for your child's future.
My children, rising 5th and 3rd graders, attend G.R. Whitfield school in Grimesland and have been at this wonderful school since I parted with them my first and second tearful goodbyes there to each of them on their first days attending public school in Pitt County.
If ind myself resenting the "interference" of "No Child Left Behind" in their education. My children are not the "double counted" or "triple counted" numbers in a "sub group", mere numbers, and truthfully, I could possibly "qualify" as "economically disadvantaged" in the current economy, but not "black". So why is "black" a "sub group" anyway? Why do "black" OR "economically disadvantaged" get to count TWICE and THRICE in the tally? WHY DON'T they have a category for "NAFTA DISPLACED" or "50% TAXED" or "White" or "Owns a home but screwed on loan"...I mean dang, aren't all of us "Economically Disadvantaged" BECAUSE OF such "Government Policies" at this point?
Let the educators EDUCATE! Dropout rates drop. Think about it folks. It's YOUR FUTURE too!
