PRESS RELEASE

    On June 11, 2011 at approximately 12:20 A.M., the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle located on Sandpointe Drive in Washington. The owner of the vehicle discovered the side door glass of his truck had been broken. During the crime scene investigation, blood was recovered. The Sheriff's Office began an investigation and a suspect was identified.

    As a result of the information obtained during interviews and evidence collected at the scene, Investigator Robert Gaskins applied for and obtained a warrant charging William Gregory Hicks Jr., age 47, of Sandpointe Drive in Washington with one count of Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle and one count of Felony Larceny. Hicks was arrested on June 30, 2011 and confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $500.00 secured bond.
