Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an Attempted Arson that occurred at a residence on Old Blount’s Creek Road in Chocowinity.


    On November 18, 2010, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an Attempted Arson that occurred at a residence on Old Blount’s Creek Road in Chocowinity, North Carolina. A resident reported the suspect attempted to burn the home during a dispute. The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation, collected evidence, and conducted interviews. The findings from the investigation were presented to the Beaufort County Grand Jury.

    After reviewing the case, the Grand Jury issued a True Bill of Indictment charging Michael Dale Williams, age 34, of Old Blount’s Creek Road with one count of Attempted First Degree Arson. Williams was arrested by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office on June 24, 2011, and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $10,000 secured bond set by Magistrate Holmes.
